Knee Pain
The knee joint is under the influence of mechanics both above and below – often related to poor function in the foot and ankle, or hip, and poor muscular control in thigh and calf.
Therefore full assessment of the whole kinetic chain is required, involving appraisal of joint movement and ranges, strength testing, foot posture and alignment, gait and functional movement analysis, pressure analysis and footwear assessment.
Treating knee problems can be complex and wide ranging – you may be recommended to undertake a progressive strengthening plan, change the type of footwear you habitually use, modify your activity patterns and use custom foot orthoses to influence lower limb mechanics.
Our Sports Podiatrist is very well equipped to guide you through your treatment plan and get you back to your desired activity.
