Originally hailing from Fareham in Hampshire, I landed in Somerset in 2001 whilst serving in the Royal Navy and, bar a brief spell living and working in Cardiff, I’ve been here ever since.
Having travelled extensively during my 35 year career, my most recent big adventure was to walk the French Leg of the Camino de Santiago (The way of Saint James) followed immediately by the Camino Muxía / Fisterra to the west coast, walking a grand total of 940km in the Spring of 2025.
Now having caught the Camino bug, I plan to walk the Camino Portugues later in 2026 and the Camino Via de la Plata in spring of 2027 with a planned total of 1250km over two months, walking from Cádiz on the south coast to A Coruña on the north coast. Luckily I work in the right place to keep my feet in tip top shape!
Eventual retirement to Spain is my long term goal. I enjoy walking (obviously!), motorcycling, listening to music (particularly on vinyl), reading and spending time in South Wales with my granddaughter Florence.
